Smart Mimosis
Material as Interface
This generativ sculpture is the product of material studies featuring dielectric elastomers. We examined the natural movement of the smart material VHB, produced by 3M. The »Smart Mimosis« reactes on an impulse (the visitor) and starts to interact, like its botanical namesake. During open days, the visitors were able to attend hands-on-workshops and independently build actuators for this object.
