Expression is about the multiple overlay of digital masks over a person.
By the use of face-recognition tools for smart-phones, the own face of a protagonist was shown as a mask above his face. The interference can be seen in the video-sequences. Through movement, the digital mask was observable and shows the boundaries between the digital and physical face.
A change of media was needed, to analogize the double portrait. Through a contact print (photogramm) with the smart-phone, an analog picture was produced. A white frame arises from the manual process, which leads to a grid shown over the face. The face-recognition still registers a face and allows the user to overlay its face again. The superimpostion of the digital mask over a physical face is clearly visible after multiple changes in media.
